Malcolm Dare

Malcolm Dare graduated in 1988 from Leicester University with a BSc. in Mining Geology and then served 3 years in the Royal Engineers leaving the Army with the rank of Captain.

In 1992 he started work in industry as a Production Manager at Rombouts Coffee before joining Mars Electronics International in 1993. During 7 years at Mars he worked as a Shift Manager, Operations Manager, Logistics Manager and Industrial Engineering Manager and gained a very wide ranging understanding of operations management. He also completed an MBA. In 2000 he moved to Applied Materials UK Ltd as a supply chain manager where he undertook various roles before being appointed to the site’s Management Team as the Head of Supply Chain.

Malcolm joined the Board of BAE Systems Submarine Solutions as the Supply Chain
Director in 2006 and joined the Board of the Skills Academy in September 2007.
